Handmade one-of-a-kind clothing for the creative spirit

"Violet's Violets" ~ Upcycled  Skirt

*SOLD*

I found this cute deep purple moo-moo with a beautiful floral embroidery at my local thrift store. I loved the design of the embroidery, but the style of the dress isn't my cup of tea... So, I cut off the bodice and added an elastic waist band to make this adorable full skirt with SIDE SEAM POCKETS - perfect for summer! I marked down the price of the skirt because I noticed two tiny dots on the backside (last pic shown) - they are very small and not noticeable unless looking closely.

"Eyes of Argus" ~ Handmade Wrap Skirt

*SOLD*

In Greek Mythology, Hera honored her faithful watchman, a giant named Argus, by preserving his one hundred eyes in a peacock's tail... forever. They are also referred to as the "eyes of the stars". The peacock represents vision, royalty, spirituality, awakening, guidance, protection, & watchfulness.

"Daisy Jane" ~ Upcycled Wrap Dress

*SOLD*
I used a blue sheet with little daisies to make this simple vintage style wrap dress. The bodice is lined and has two straps that criss-cross in the back and button on the waist. There are two waistband ties that wrap around and tie in the front. I've added side seam pockets as well.

"Grace" ~ Upcycled Skirt

I can't remember how I came by this Jane Seymour dress (yes, Dr. Quinn, the Medicine Woman also designed clothes!), I loved the eyelet lace fabric, but wasn't thrilled about the style of the dress - mainly the bodice... So, I cut it just below the bodice and added an elastic waist to make an adorable simple a-line white skirt.

Dresses & Skirts

"White Stripes" ~ Upcycled Dress

*SOLD*
I completely refashioned a long button down shirt dress (aka 'the Elaine Dress' - from Seinfeld). I made a new scoop-neck bodice and cute cap sleeves - both trimmed with a white bias tape. I kept part of the original skirt - including the side seam pockets. I added white bias tape along the button casing. The dress is fitted with a back zipper and hook & eye.

"On the Dock of the Bay" ~ Upcycled Dress

^^FEATURED IN THE SUMMER 2016 ISSUE OF ALTERED COUTURE!^^

This might be the biggest transformation to date! I found the cutest ocean themed dress with embroidered sailboats, birds and a sun in bright colors - but, it was a YUGE moo-moo. So, I cut off the bottom half and paired it with a simple light yellow ribbed tank top with lace trim. I gathered the waistline and added elastic to make it flexible. I just couldn't throw away any of the embroidery, so I cut out two pieces from the bodice remnants and stitched it to the tank top - a group of birds on the right chest and a setting sun on the center back. Level up! This is an adorable fitted top, full skirt dress and it has SIDE SEAM POCKETS - perfect for summer!

"Blue Bird & Blossoms" ~ Upcycled Dress

*SOLD*
The dress is made from a super soft aqua/teal blue jersey & is super soft. The bodice is gathered in the front with shoulder straps and fully lined. The waist band is loose and has stretch. The skirt is gathered under the waistline and is full & roomy. The hand drawn appliqué pictures a little blue bird sitting on a branch surrounded by flowers in bloom. The bird is a blue with white polka dots, the flowers are yellow and pink gingham, bathe leaves are a green gingham, and the tree is a solid brown - all cotton prints. Each appliqué is satin stitched and I added a few musical notes around the singing blue bird.

"Bella Noir" ~ Upcycled Dress

*SOLD*

The print of a long strapless smocked dress I found a ya local thrift store caught my eye - I

love the bright floral print against the dark navy background, the fabric is very stretchy & flowy - kind of like swimsuit material... I cut off the bottom half of the dress and paired it with a super soft peach tank top. I gathered the waistline and added elastic to make it flexible. Level up! perfect for summer! Upcycled and one-of-a-kind.

"In My Garden" ~ Handmade Wrap Skirt

*SOLD*

This wrap skirt is perfect for spring & fun summer festivals. I paired a wonderful floral cotton (cream background with bright pastel flowers and mandala print) with a vintage floral cotton (soft mint with little white/yellow/pink flower wreaths) to make this cute & simple wrap skirt. I overlapped an ivory lace trim on top of the green vintage fabric at the bottom of the skirt. I just love how the two fabrics contrast yet compliment each other.

"Daisy Dream" ~ Upcycled Dress

*SOLD*

I absolutely love the daisies falling on a dark olive print, and the criss cross neckline is very unique. There are 3 fabric buttons on the front of the bodice and the open waist kind of foods and opens up to the bottom of the skirt, but there are no slits in the skirt. The dress is fitted with a back zipper, instead of a single back tie, I used scraps from the discarded excess skirt length to make extra straps to the center front - now there are two ties, one on each side.

"Peace, Love & Ladybugs" ~ Upcycled  Dress

*SOLD*
This is a simple cute summer dress - lightweight and can be dressed up or down. I used a cute floral sheet with yellow, blue, & pink flowers... and of course, ladybugs. The straps have a blue checkered pattern (was the top part of the sheet) - and the pattern fades down to the top of the bodice. The dress is completely lined and added side seam pockets! This dress is very adjustable - elastic on the back of the bodice and around the waist. Comes with a matching tie belt.

Little Floral jersey skirt

I've had this beautiful floral print wrinkled jersey fabric forever! I'm so glad I finally used it to make this adorable skirt. The bohemian floral print has red and blue flowers, with green and earthtone hues set against a beige background. I added an elastic waist for comfort. This skirt would look cute on its own with sandals or paired with leggings and boots!

"Dream On" ~ Upcycled Dream catcher Dress

*SOLD*

I took a cute simple brown knit dress and embroidered a beautiful dream catcher on the bottom front - The feathers are different shades of blue. I also hand embroidered a whip stitch around the empire waist, just under the bust, in a fading blue embroidery thread and added a lavender detail - the design starts at the waist and meets in the center with a hand embroidered flower. I also added a dainty lace trim around the neckline... Turning this into a truly unique upcycled dress.

"Poppy Fever" ~ Upcycled Skirt

SALE! 50% OFF!

I found this vintage yellow skirt at my local thrift store... The fabric is super soft with a unique woven waffle texture. The skirt is a pencil/a-line style and has an elastic waist. Ok the bottom right front, I hand drew several large poppy flowers (inspired by the poppies in my garden) - I used three different red cotton prints for the poppies and three different green cotton prints for the stems, buds and leaves. All edges of the appliqué are satin stitched.
